If you're in the Jongno-gu area of Seoul, meaning within proximity of the Gwangjang/ Kwang Jang market, Dongdaemun or Anguk areas, you're not far from Cheonggyecheon river in the heart of Seoul. During certain times of year, the stream will be converted into a beautiful lantern filled oasis of light, glistening for passerby's and visitors to see with food trucks and vendors a'plenty...but this time of year, however, it was a quiet reservoir for urban relaxation, with people having picnics and listening to their boom boxes, cellphones or playing their own instruments. It's quite nice, really, and I would wholly recommend any visitor to Seoul spend at least a little time in this area. It's easy proximity to many of Seoul's train stations, making it convenient for many visitors and attractions. and attracts very different crowds depending on the time of day and time of year. It's so relaxing to stroll by the water and soak in the serenity, especially with the city raging through it's day to day machinations around you.
